That hasn't been shown to be true.

And considering that most of the major disaster scenarios occur in centuries not years, taking several years or a decade, making only small steps while evaluating the big ones (or starting the big ones very slowly) isn't wasting a lot of time.


Would not having invaded Iraq in 2003 equaled "ignoring Saddam"?

That not taking a certain proposed measure to combat a problem, doesn't mean you are ignoring the problem, or that absolutely nothing is being done.
