Of course it hasn't been shown to be true...it hasn't happened yet. That's what the dispute is all about.

Your original statement asserting your opinion that time and irreversibility are key elements favoring current action. I pointed out how you are making an unsubstantiated claim.

You take the view of some and apply it inaccurately to most or all.

Really? Bush's first act in office was to kill our participation in Kyoto.

1 - It was already dead, voted down 98 to 0.

2 - Not supporting Kyoto, does not equal thinking or saying "every argument for global warming is a load of crap".

By the time he's done studying, he'll be out of office and won't have to deal with it.

He has taken very small steps, and just recently proposed some slight bigger ones. All are much smaller then something like Kyoto, but taking a lot of time before committing to a policy that can easily be a large net negative, can often be a very good idea.

Inhofe has called global warming a hoax perpetrated by environmentalists on the American public.

Which says something about Inhofe's opinion, but nothing about the opinions of conservatives in general and isn't conclusive about Bush (President's don't agree with every notion or opinion of their appointees). It would perhaps show a level of skepticism by Bush, it doesn't show that "bush and conservatives in general start with the premise that it's all a crock of shit. "

and he dealt with it, by calling it the hoax that it is. What is your problem ?
