DJ Turkish Forex Reserves +$387M To $59.89B Wk Jan 19 - IHA
ANKARA

(Dow Jones)--The Turkish Central Bank said Thursday that its foreign exchange reserves increased $387 million to $59.89 billion in the week ended Jan. 19, the Ihlas News Agency, or IHA, reported.

Foreign exchange reserves reached a record high of $60.8 billion Dec. 29.

The bank didn't provide an explanation for the increase in reserves in its weekly bulletin.

Gold reserves were unchanged at $2.37 billion as of Jan. 19.

The bank's weekly bulletin also showed that Turkey's total gross reserves decreased $622 million to $100.55 billion in the week ended Jan. 5, from $101.17 billion in the week ended Dec. 29.

Central bank reserves totaled $58.33 billion Jan. 5.

Private institutions' reserves, including commercial banks reserves, increased $1.89 billion to $39.842 billion in the week ended Jan. 5, from $37.95 billion Dec. 29.
