The "threat", is the threat to the US. IF Bill thought there was a big threat, then Bill was wrong- but at least he didn't invade Iraq over it, so you have to give him that. I'd say the same for papa Bush. Good decisions by both leaders- a rep and a dem.

I understand that the threat to the US is/was the issue. I felt that there was no immediate threat at the time, and said so at the time. However, looking at the conduct, comments, and persona of Saddam Hussein, I don't see how anyone could conclude that he was doing anything but biding his time until the dismantling of the sanctions.

Bill Clinton's comment was spot on. IMO
