Many Moose

I have a picture of my father's Grandmother born in 1875 above my desk. She is in a simple long dress with her hair pulled into a bun.

I have another picture of her in a horse drawn buggy with a babe in arms------long dress and a broadrimmed summer hat on her head-------and my Grandfather driving the horses----looking like a gunslinger(he owned a logging business.)

Grandma was an "herb doctor" traveling with her buggy and herbs to help people who were sick and to deliver babies---of course no license but she was known as the Herb Doctor. (This was when she wasn't having babies herself.)

So now the politicians are falling all over themselves to give us a complex and complicated "Universal Health Care" system.

And, here I sit using technology unthought of in 1875 when she was born.

Horse drawn power to space travel>>> It is truly amazing when you stop to think of it. The 20th century was indeed remarkable, in every sense. My Grandparents did live from horse and buggies, to the Model T, and then cars to the 50's....they both died in the late 60's, but just missed the Man on the Moon Apollo venture. Both of them would have just been in awe, and enjoyed it so much.

We all owe so much to our parents and Grandparents who did so much to keep this country a country during both World Wars, and several others inbetween. I can not even imagine what they would say about Kerry and Fonda of ill fame this week. Especially Kerry. It's bad enough to say what he said to the Americans...but to say it to the world in another country is totally disgusting. Too bad he has to come back.
