re:The recent announcement that US military can attack and kill Iranians in Iraq which are plotting against US interests.

This doesn't this make any sense to me.

1. How will a US soldier, who can't speak Arabic or Farsi, know that someone is or is not Iranian?

2. If the soldier is being attacked right now, he can return fire regardless of the attacker's nationality, right?

3. If the solider is not being attacked now, what's the point of this law?

Wolf Blitzer asked Cheney about this new law during the interview, but he didn't even bring up the craziness of implementation. Given that the US military probably cant tell Iranians from Iraqis on sight, and that they can already defend themselves when attacked, what's the point of that law.

Consider some of the relevant facts:

1. Iran has never once moved beyond its borders in an act of aggression since the organization of the UN and widespread acceptance of the UN Charter as fundamental international law.

2. The United States and Israel have both engaged in numerous cross-border invasions and occupations in violation of the UN Charter, most recently the United States (and Britain) attacking and occupying Iraq, and Israel bombing and invading Lebanon.

3. Iran has not threatened to attack the United States and it has not threatened to attack Israel, although Iran has promised to retaliate for an attack against its territory,

4. In contrast with Iran’s bluster but non-threats, both the United States and Israel have made quite open threats to attack Iran, with U.S. officials speaking regularly of their objective as “regime change” in Tehran.

So why doesn't Ajmehnibubble say the above 4 points rather than the stupid provocative comments he decides to make? The man is an idiot.
