Maybe as far as you are concerned.

In my opinion, the failure of Israel to defeat Hezbollah, a rag-tag army as you call it, was a decisive turning point in the history of Israel's wars. Had Israel defeated Hezbollah, the situation in Lebanon would have been entirely different and Syria would have found itself encircled. Furthermore, Israelis could then sleep well and without fear of Katyusha rockets falling on them in the night, especially in any conflict with Iran.

> It's quite ludicrous to claim that Israel --the Middle East's most powerful military-- ever needed "help" from the US to fight Hezbollah

Firstly, Israel's most powerful military achieved that power mainly as result of US armaments and US taxpayers' contributions. Secondly, whether you agree or not, I can accept the argument that the neocons were disappointed the US did not intervene in Syria. Indeed, even now, Israel is doing everything it can to rouse the US into fighting Iran, despite the US taking a hammering in Iraq. Next thing, and as a parody on what you have said above, I imagine you will make a statement something like this:

"It's quite ludicrous to claim that the US -- the world's most powerful military -- ever needed "help" from Israel to fight Iran."

Or, the other way around --

"It's quite ludicrous to claim that Israel --the Middle East's most powerful military-- ever needed "help" from the US to fight Iran."
