Tell you what. Forget the official unemployment figures, and all the possibilities that they are counted differently. Look at the number of people working in the US compared to our population and then look at the same comparison for Germany. Now who has a higher percentage of unemployed people?

There are some very important demographics that skew those numbers......for an example, the US has a younger population than Germany. In addition, with Germany's mandatory retirement age of 65, I suspect the percentage of retired Germans is much higher than the American percentage. Thirdly, Germans often do not complete their education until their late twenties whereas Americans finish usually by their early twenties.
