they make around 75k here in Montgomery County Md and that's for 9 months

If they make $75K, they are a rare breed. Since you tend to exaggerate in order to make a point, I will withhold judgement.

Southern CA is the place for teachers.

I have a family member who is a long term kindergarten teacher. Teaches basically 3-4 hours a day, off for the summer and every conceivable holiday, spring break, *winter* break plus a limited number of *personal days*, and great benefits who earns $80,000/year.

She complains of being underpaid all the time.
Whines about having to prepare her *lesson plans*.

The union indoctrinates them early and often, IMO.
