carranza2, keep your blinders on cause if you take them off you might see the truth. And you can't handle the truth.

Sheesh, what is wrong with you?

Sun has simply pointed out that (1) The average American knows little about Iran and (2) a case can be made that Iran is evolving away from theocracy and toward democracy.

I don't know your raw IQ but you lack the nuanced thinking that is characteristic of great minds. You are a simplistic, bombastic idealogue.

>> You say "more pro-US", but you don't complete your thought with the "than" part and I wonder...

You wonder because you lack basic understanding of logical constructs. The "and" in that sentence connected both premises to the "than every other country in the middle east".

>> But saying that Iran is much more democratic than every country in the ME except for Israel is like saying that a man who is only wearing a pair of socks is very, very well dressed compared to someone who is stark naked.

Is that so?

Then why is it that you idol, King George II, calls them allies and moderate states?

In Kuwait, remember that little dictatorship restored to power by the first King George, yes your puppet established dictatorship, women did not have the right to vote until a few months ago. And their constitution gives the king full immunity and makes him the final decision maker in all things...kind of how George Bush sees himself.

What about Egypt, that other US ally and "moderate" state? Until a year ago nobody could legally run against the president. What exactly did those elections mean? How come Egypt continues to be such a grand recipient of US aid to the tune of billions? Could it be that the money is to keep the dictatorship in power and the Egyptian under the yoke?

Should I continue? Some of your so called moderate states did not (do not?) even have a constitution until very recently and were/are ruled by decree.

Here is the failed states index foreignpolicy.com
Find Iran on it. Where is it? How far from the top of the list? How close to the bottom of the list? How many US allies and "moderate" states do you see that are much worse? Iran only needs to improve a few of things by a point and they will be off that list. But you just can't take it that they are doing it without the help of your bombs, can you?

Now back to answering my question: How many of the people you support have actually been to Iran and have extensive familiarity with the culture?

You don't have any, do you? The funny thing is, that I can list 3 American women who are all well respected in their field and have written about Iran. All of them have come back with much more positive views than yours (ok yours is the bottom of the barrel so I am not saying much. They have all come back with positive views...)

>>" Face it, Iran under the MadMullahs is oppressive, religiously intolerant, sexist, a serious violator of the most basic human rights, a promoter of terror, and no democratic oasis of liberty. "<<

Golly...if Iran keeps going in this direction you describe they could become another "liberated" Iraq.
