Ha! You've been reading too much analysis and doing too little thinking for yourself. That's like saying the insurgency in Iraq shows how "weak" the US is. The next time that Israel and Hezbollah go to war, in which region do you want to be - weak little Israel or Southern Lebanon?
I do not think that there will be Hizbo/Israel war. However I feel that there will be a bigger one. My reasoning is that 30 + years ago the the neighboring countries were ill prepared and misinformed. Today it is a different situation.

"That's like saying the insurgency in Iraq shows how "weak" the US is. "

That's exactly what it does. It shows that the ANY country can be defeated by a patient strategy of geurilla conflict, just as Vietnam did. Size and strength of a military doesn't change any hearts and minds in a foreign country, just the opposite.

The population will ALWAYS greatly outnumber any foreign military, and aren't going anywhere..
