Taking one example and projecting it across "every political issue" is extreme to say the least.

And frankly, there are a lot of people who are victims of their circumstances. I would point to Darfur as a strong example.

Ted, > I don't know of anyone who thinks that way.

Every time I hear about Hamas or Hezbollah attacking Israel, I hear about the poor, dire conditions of the Palestinians.

Okay. Now you're changing your story. You were talking about 9/11 and freedom fighters. The situation in Palestine is a whole different ball game.

The implication is clear: Israel is supposedly to blame for the attacks. Not poor Palestinians.

Israel is to blame......at least in part. Why do you have a problem with that?

And this sort of "logic" is pervasive across the entire world and in every political issue. No personal responsibility. Everyone is a victim of their own circumstances except for the "rich."

What you clearly miss is how much control Israel has over the plight of the Palestinians and how deep their poverty is; that they have lived in refugee camps since 1948. The Palestinians got screwed......big time. The West Bank and Gaza were not their first choice, but they could not pick or choose. Israel got the best part of Palestine. And its not like the Palestinians are sitting on a pool of oil or some iron ore or fertile land. Their biggest asset is a water aquifer under the West Bank. And Israel is stealing that.

That is why there are people in the world who have some compassion for the Palestinians. They don't condone the violence but at the same time, they understand that Israel is not innocent in all of this.
