hans,

The positioning is kind of weird. I would certainly prefer 3.0 GHz Conroe (DC) to 2.13 or 2.4 GHz Kentsfield, but Conroe is positioned lower.

2.66 GHz Kentsfield and 3.0 GHz Conroe would be close call to decide which one to get, if the price were equal. But since Kentsfield is still in the extreme bracket (I guess $600 - $1000) vs. 3 GHz Conroe in $200 - $400 range, Conroe would be an obvious choice for me.

hans,

I am wondering if Intel and AMD are fooling themselves thinking that people will pay premium for quad core CPUs, and that adding cores will create a new waterfall pricing. I have a feeling that AMD and Intel will "waterfall" the DC pricing, but QC volumes will be an insignificant trickle, kind of killing the waterfall...
