Off topic posts were not tolerated, a characteristic which makes me prefer your style by far. When these threads started ten years ago, nobody knew how they should work. We are all still finding our way. I am sure we all find some of the "chit-chat" that we are not interested in annoying, but we have enough of a social relationship here to put up with it so that others will put up with our "chit-chat." :>) What makes this work for me is the combination of the entry fee that keeps out the worst, combined with the degree of intelligence here that is the result of that, and an interest in business. The level of discourse here, compared to the big volume social threads, is so much higher that there really is no comparison. lindybill@uppity.com
