Well, heaven forbid that anyone would have to admit that the Feds might in fact, be doing somethings right....(that was sarcasm for anyone on the outside looking in and who thinks the Bush Adm does nothing right...ever) I think that is a good part of the reason we haven't really been hit again. BUT I am also mindful that the 9-11 attacks were planned YEARS before 2001. I don't so much worry about the BIG attack (nuke) If that happens, it's all over. Both for those who were in the way of the attack, and for any one who is in the downstream of it. If this happens, our country will recover eventually, but the entire world will be reeling for years. The US funds so many things around the world, and helps the people. Tell me what would happen if the US no longer could help provide for the world. Who would buy the oil products? Who else would grow the food that we sell and give away? The people who don't think it can happen are being foolish, and at their peril. What I worry about is a small vial (or 100 of them or so all over the country) with some sort of Bio or Chemical weapon that is unleashed. These are by far easier to spread around, and equally lethal. With crazy and/or murdering barbarian type of people seemingly everywhere, and with our borders unguarded, I think it should be of grave concern to everyone.

USA officials are going completely insane. It looks as though a hand grenade is now a weapon of mass destruction. So, it looks as though Iraq was absolutely full of weapons of mass destruction after all. Just change words to mean anything they want them to mean. The UN WMD inspectors were obviously confused about what they were supposed to be inspecting and when Saddam said he didn't have any WMDs, he was thinking in terms of hydrogen bombs, not double happies or hand grenades.
