2/16/07 Update
The Nasdaq Biotech Index was up a bit for the week, closing Friday with a YTD gain of 3.25% (vs. up 2.73% YTD at the prior Friday's close). The Charity Contest portfolio median was essentially unchanged for the week, closing Friday with a YTD gain of 2.82%.(vs. up 2.79% YTD at the prior Friday's close). At Friday's closing bell, 23 of the 31 Contest portfolios were in the black and 15 of the 31 were beating the NBI.
My own portfolio was hit hard by the Inex plunge. Although I'm still in first place with a 34.3% YTD gain, my lead has been cut substantially. (For the curious, in real life I sold about half of my Inex shares. Although, unfortunately, I wasn't clever enough to sell near the high, I can't complain too much given my very nice profits.) Wilder's portfolio had another excellent week, roaring into second place with a 22.2% YTD gain. Most amazing to me about Wilder's portfolio is that all 13 of his stock picks are showing a YTD gain.
