Do you have a theory as to why the Muslim world is so, well, nutty? I've been spending quite a bit of time in the UAE lately, and it doesn't seem a terribly nutty place at all. Neither does Malaysia.

The basis of the nutty Islamic Jihad world is the foundations of their ideological underpinnings. Same as everywhere. Start with chimpoid DNA, which we all have to a greater or lesser extent, but some have a lot more than others, then overlay it with nutty ideas, and hey presto, carnage and getting nowhere. Genetic engineering helps fix it and that is proceeding apace, albeit only in the eons-long natural process of male defeats male and female selects one male over others [plus Darwin-effect deletions]. Once good genes are selected, then environmental matters like economic improvements and ideological improvements can become normal. You can't turn a cage of chimps into a bunch of CDMA engineers.
