Yup, we nuked Hiroshima and Nagasaki so the Japanese could become a free and democratic country. And it worked!

We keep thousands of nukes at hand just in case we have to free the people of another oppressed country.

Oh come now, Kumar. The United States has no intention of that and if we're the only nation on earth with nukes, then we do not need them either.

Unfortunately, that is not the case. Some of the countries that do have them are controlled by men, not by laws. Those are the things we need to be alert to.
