Separation of church and state.

They can have their own "courts" in church, but they cannot have courts that have the force of law here, in the US, where force of law means "force of the government". You just can't have that kind of entanglement in this country- unless we throw the constitution out.

People can privately arrange to live however they want to. But "US" courts, mean courts OF the United States- those courts run by the government. Those courts cannot be religious.
