Neither is mine. Neither is the Republican party's, or that of many libertarians.

When he supported State's Rights he was doing so to counter-balance what he saw as a "grab for power" by the Central Government.

Exactly. And the feds have since grabbed far more power than it was trying to grab at the time.

If Jefferson were alive today, I don't think he would be a "liberal democrat" or a "redneck republican".

Well I can agree with that much. He wouldn't be a liberal Democrat, and despite his view of the US as an "agricultural nation" he (like many farmers today) was hardly a redneck.

But I'm not so sure his political views would be like yours. For one thing I don't think he would argue for a far weaker/smaller federal government.
