Amen Brother. I have not been this DIGUSTED with our Congress in a very long time, maybe ever. The more they act like this the more I am wondering whether DEMOCRACY is worth it, maybe we just should have a dictatorship. jdn

Bush needs to oppose this STRONGLY, and send it to the Supreme Court. And the Senate Republicans should filibuster! I personally am so upset about this, that this is my current thinking. Maybe the Left and Right coasts, since they are peopled with many Anti-Victory, Anti-US self-centered Dems and some of like-mind Rinos, maybe really do need a wake up call.

<<<<< So instead of cutting off funds, Mr. Murtha will "slow-bleed" the troops with "readiness" restrictions or limits on National Guard forces that will make them all but impossible to deploy. These will be attached to appropriations bills that will also purport to "support the troops."
"There's a D-Day coming in here, and it's going to start with the supplemental and finish with the '08 [defense] budget,'' Congressman Neil Abercrombie (D., Hawaii) told the Web site. He must mean D-Day as in Dunkirk.<<<<<

Isn't it interesting that re: the Dems who voted to approve the Iraq War in 2002 .....we can assume they knew what they were voting on and WHY.....now profess to have been misled...or lied to, etc.

Do these people not see how stupid they look? By approving something, means you too have studied an issue, and agree with it.

Perhaps their antivote now, means they didn't know what they were doing in 2002. And perhaps it means we can not trust any of them again, because what would make us think they EVER know what they are doing?

The only real question is how many Republicans will also participate in this disgrace in the mistaken belief that their votes will put some distance between themselves and the war most of them voted to authorize in 2002.
