I have to leave but will check back and give this some consideration later.

Take care,

Gosh Ed. Surprisingly, I find your comments a little fractal. You say I've taken too much Bush drug, but I don't see the connection between that comment with regards to what you asked and I answered.

I made some statements of principle: "In principle, if we are to help at all, it will be by extending our efforts to improve the well being of Iraqis with the same genuine concern we would have for ourselves in a similar circumstance."

You asked me to offer some specific strategic direction for us in relation to the dilemma in Iraq, which I did and I founded my comments on the logic of the options available.

I agree that the situation in Iraq is a monumental challenge but I don't see how your comments to me are responsive to the logic I offered for your consideration. Perhaps we are at the end of that road.

If the Dems decide to fund the troops but tie the strings to pay for the troops and equipment, the troops will die a slow death....MANY more of them than have been killed so far. If this is allowed to happen, it will be the direct fault of all but 2 Dems in the House, and all but 17 Repubs .....

IF the funds are cut, ALL Military should come home RIGHT NOW!

If the funds are approved, and the strings attached so no payments can be made, ALL Military should come home just as soon that happens.

The all but 2 Dems and all but 17 Repubs directly will be the cause of an attack on US Soil. Period.

This happened in VN. The funds were cut...Dem House, Dem Senate and Dem President. Our soldiers left. SE Asia lost millions of people when it fell to the Communists.
