K, if they'd had more brains and less steel, they wouldn't have organized 1812, Alsace war, WWI, Great Depression, WWII, a litany of MADness: <Agree about the steel of our Grandparents and Parents...They not only had to cope with a Depression, but WWII on top of it.

For instance, the day we were struck by Japan in Pearl Harbor, we had 130,000 some people in our entire military force. By the end of the war, we had over 16.3 MILLION people under arms.

Those things didn't arrive from Outer Space, visited on them by aliens. They decided they were good things to have. It was the way they did things back in the day = geopolitical Great Games of conquest, territory, serfs, power, population control, alpha male dominance hierarchy, confiscation, megalomania aimed at getting the girls, the money and the power.

I prefer less steel, or at least a greater ratio of brains to steel.
