I don't think so, since his decision was pre intel. I agree with what Win wrote. No need to duplicate his excellent post.

It wasn't pre intel. It was post plenty of intel. It was just pre CIA blessed intel, at least the CIA claims so now. The two were not and are not synonymous, though the CIA would like to think so. That's if you believe the CIA now, and don't think they are just trying to cover their asses for their lousy record. This is why Pillar always reminds me of a 16th century Catholic priest outraged that some Protestant heretic would dare to read the Bible for himself, instead of accepting the doctrine that the Church handed down.

As for Win, his posts are excellent only if you think that sneering makes an acceptable substitute for argument. I can't even follow what he's going on about "Plamegate" now. That whole case fell apart, no crime was committed unless Libbey's faulty memory in a matter that is no longer even pertinent to a possible crime can be raised to the level of perjury. Everyone should at least be able to recognize by now that Plame wasn't covert and neither Libbey nor Rove "outed" her.
