Not exactly a joke, but made my first visit to NY a few years ago and walked though Alphabet City.

They had a "Museum of the Tenements", where for ten bucks you could see what living on the Lower East Side was like. The Blue Note (2 drinks minimum) felt like the Museum of the avant garde, the Rockefeller Center the Museum of capitalism, and so on.

Manhattan is one big frigging Museum.
