What personal attack? I certainly didn't mean to imply that you, yourself, are illiterate simply because Mohammed was. It just strikes me as not a coincidence that a man who was either raised in a Muslim family or in a Muslim country to as the same naive question about the Bible as Mohammed, the illiterate Prophet of Islam.

You grew up in that culture, and here you are, looking at things from the perspective of that culture.

You are perfectly capable of actually studying the Bible itself, or commentary on the Bible, which gives answers to your questions in detail.

I am not asking you to study the Bible as a believer, or a potential believer. There are plenty of scholars who use an objective approach to Biblical study.

Although I don't read these objective scholars I've seen their commentary on PBS, History Channel, Discovery Channel, etc., as well as seen their books in Borders and Barnes & Nobel.

In fact, one of my favorite books is Jefferson's Bible, where he went through the New Testament tearing out the supernatural parts leaving mostly Jesus's life history and what He actually said. Try reading that. There's no problem with interpretation, this is internally consistent.
