There was some balanced yet positive comment for compucredit by some motley fool. It recommends the stock despite the topic of consumer saturation (or worsening of credit quality) plus the expected decline in some related business - payroll advances in connection with tax refunds will negatively influence the ´revenue base of CCRT (they say also chargeoffs could be lower as the folks pay off balances but it completely overlooks the adverse selection or moral hazard problems particularly associated with the worst borrowers).

See: fool.com

But it is time to look at various other lenders and related businesses. ACF is something where I personally have unsettled accounts (not with the company but with trading results for ACF). Indymac and Impac are high on the distribution lists and have not seen their lows yet. This is 1998 revisited only that this time the fed will or can not help out that easily.

CFC countrywide was mentioned as takeover target; but the price will be different; it is difficult to see why a big bank would pay top dollar for a book with questionable quality. CFCs book is $24, not in the vicinity of $40 and earnings may not improve the next 2 years.

More CFC comments. Reference to earlier post with CFC option granting problems.

Taking all into consideration, CFC will not be aquired at $40 or above. Go short.

Can't we stir some shit up here? Where's Asensio? This place is just too damn boring for me these days.

I'm going to go hang out with Warren Buffet. At least he eats red meat!
