I think that he will point out, quite rightly, that Mel was very anxious to get the deal done, evidenced by the fact that he was willing to pay a premium to XMSR. There is no question in my mind that the market has accorded a premium valuation to SIRI for the "Howard-Mel factor." Mel was able to lock in most of that premium for his shareholders, just like Steve Case did when he merged AOL with Time Warner.

If this deal gets done, and I think that there are some real regulatory issues here, even our friend will have to agree that the combined companies will be stronger because Mel will be running things day-to-day.
