"Chuck Hagel and Obama."
Now thats the ticket! (g)

Btw think you are to harsh on hillary. I think she believes in presidential power and gave bush some rope. I think she believed in the intel as did alot of decent folks--me included and i think many of us believed in the competence of cheney, rummy etc. Fact that some on the left appear right on iraq is no guarantee that they wont get it wrong next time. You should more than others here get this because your anti-war view is not from the left, its always been from the realism in FP school which some of us admittedly got away from. Who would be more the realist if pres than hillary? She may have given bush some room post 9/11 but in my wildest dreams i dont see her taking us to war with iraq if she were president back then.

Btw #2 PC Kerrick who rudy picked for homeland was a great Police Commish here in NY during the 9/11 period. I dont think rudy would have pushed him homeland if he felt there were skeletons.

Fabulous post, Ed. I love your writing skills.

I used to think alot of McCain but he seems to have disappeared. What I see now is a shell.....a rather small, old, very pale man who comes across as pandering.

In fact, I've wondered at times if he is unwell.....he just doesn't look good.

Hagel is to be admired. As someone else said here, I wish he could be traded for Lieberman.

Edwards' populist approach doesn't resonate with me either, but he sure would be cute to look at for 4 years.
