NYSE Margin Has Moved Above Year 2000 Highs But Growth Rates Have Moved Higher 4 Times Margin has increased back above the year 2000 high but growth rates have moved higher 4 times in roughly 10-year intervals since the data began in the 1950s. We've seen growth rates decline from here 9 times. The last time was 2003 when we saw the S&P500 decline 2% over the next several months. The last time was late 2003 when we saw the S&P500 decline 8% over the first 7-8 months of 2004.
