In the interest of perfect disclosure, I actually bought a gold mutual fund for my p.a. a week or so ago. Down about 10% on it in just a few days. I still like the trade, but I believe all who have read my assessment on gold know that I am by no means in the "gold to da moon" camp UNLESS the Fed capitulates on inflation targeting. Otherwise, look for slow and steady appreciation due to global liquidity.

It just goes to show you how little the bears really know. Gold was supposed to protect them on a day like this. It didn't. You now have several major data points in the history of the gold bull run to show you that it is NOT an uncorrelated asset...YET.
