Murder is a capital offense in most of Islamic governments..." I was alluding indirectly to suicide bombers, who without a qualm, target populations that westerners consider non-combatants such as women and children particularly Jew, Christian, but Muslim alike as we seen in Baghdad. Moving on -- I am think I hear you saying we share a common enemy(s) - albeit our common enemy is not easily defined yet it must be accurately defined at the onset if it is to be successfully defeated. If that was a correct assumption, shouldn't our questions seek solutions to our common problem? If you and I can respect one another and discuss these matters it is theoretically possible that others are capable of doing likewise. That does not mean that either of us must accept the other's religion to survive -- rather it is an issue of respect for another’s faith as legitimate, separate, and a matter of individual choice. The source of another misunderstanding has occurred to me. A confrontational situation leads both side to strategic/tactical solutions. Unfortunately the point of irreversibility of such a confrontation may not be close at hand. What religious pre-suppositions of Islam do you feel are unopened to negotiation? I would say the single most non-negotiable, pre-suppositions from the Judeo-Christian standpoint might be an individual's right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness -- so long as that pursuits allow for equal rights for another(s). Can you see why I might have found the dualistic hypothesis mentioned earlier, attractive?
