If a hasty withdrawal leaves Iraq a failed state,
Again your silliness is messing with your thinking. Iraq is a failed state with the US in it and out of it. How silly can you be?

Nadine, re: "Al Qaeda's strategy for fighting the US is to mostly avoid pitched battles, where they lose, but constantly harry the troops with IEDs and suicide bombers to create constant casualties and pictures of bombs going BOOM....The OBVIOUS implication of any hasty withdrawal from Iraq is to validate this strategy as a GREAT IDEA to be used everywhere else US troops come anywhere near Muslim territory."

Reality is talking and you're not listening.

The strategy has been validated "as a GREAT IDEA to be used everywhere else US troops come anywhere near Muslim territory."

It didn't need to be validated by our silly occupation of Iraq. The Israeli/Palestinian conflicts already validated it, the Russian war in Afghanistan already validated it and the American war in Vietnam clearly validated it.

Of course Bush/Cheney had to re-validate it to the n'th degree by bull rushing into Iraq where it was sure to be proven against the best troops with the best equipment in the world.

The terrorist/insurgents/nationalists/radicals/Muslims already know this.

The only people who think the idea hasn't been validated are people like yourself who think we can disprove the lesson that reality is drenching us in blood with.

It's time to stop spinning, stop thinking magical thoughts and start using the left side of your brain for planning. Ed
