Does that prevent a Purple Heart, or make it fraudulent? Not a bit. If it did, then Bob Dole and millions of other vets got theirs fraudulently. The severity of the wound has nothing to do with it. Did Kerry get reassigned after the third PH? Yes, according to Navy policy: Bureau of Navy Personnel (BUPERS) Instruction 1300.39, mandated that personnel "wounded three times, regardless of the nature of the wound or treatment required" are to be "reassigned as having completed a full Vietnam tour with the hospital release date considered the tour completion date. They will not be ordered to Vietnam ..." By the book. Anything else? If not, you've shown that you fell into the rightist trap of believing something without checking the facts.
