This affect has already happened with the descendants of former Germans, Italians, and etc. Once someone becomes a 3rd generation American, their ancestory becomes less and less important.

You would think so, but does not always happen. My girlfriend (thankfully sleeping now - she does not hang around the net late nite) describes herself as Sicilian-American. Her great granfather migrated from Italy to the US. I describe myself as an American of Asian Indian origin. I have no ancestors in the US. I am probably what one might call 0 Generation Americans.

Yes, people have been expecting Jews to disappear for thousands of years. Doesn't work out that way.

Some, perhaps most, will assimilate, leaving a core that is more religious and less assimilated - and NOT racist. Do you call any other cultural group wishing to preserve its own identity racist?
