I visited the museum up in Index on a Sunday last summer. One of the old timers was volunteering that day and told me a sad story about one of the founding families. Seems three of the four Smith sons (the Smith's also had three daughters) were out one night carousing with some friends. Early, early the next morning there came a knock on the Smith's door. The Sheriff was there to give them the bad news that their sons were dead. They........along with two others had been hit by a train. The Volunteer didn't know how or why they had been near the train tracks......for some reason that part of the story hadn't been passed down......but tragedies have been happening as long as mankind has existed.

They shouldn't, but they sure do.
