If you knew the names of those early folks, there might be some transcribed old newspapers on the web....There are for Skagit and Whatcom Counties..... By the way, if you want to see a really great Museum, go to Lynden...It's wonderful and a real surprise for everyone who goes there...The main level is like an old town with individual shops, and the bottom level even has LOTS of old buggy's (as in horse n'...) Plus the town itself has some wonderful botique stores....
