JCP, > I just saw this on the local Craigslist. Is this a good deal? Can this be a career? Could you hire Korean teenagers to do this, then sell their "work"?

a) No, it's hardly a "good deal." Plus it's against Blizzard's Terms of Use. They have and will close accounts.

b) It's already a "career" for many people, despite Blizzard's attempts to prevent it. Actually, the more common form is called "farming gold," where players, usually young teenagers, play for hours at a time gathering gold and other precious resources in the virtual world, then sells it on eBay. Characters are also leveled for paying customers.

The practice is especially rampant in China, leading to the stereotype of "Chinese gold farmer." In game, if you can't type English very well, many players will automatically brand you as a "Chinese gold farmer."
