I think you misread my post.

When Christ said 'the poor will always be with us', it was a simple statement of fact. It wasn't an attitude or limited thinking. It wasn't a political statement or an affirmation of feudal systems. It was just a realistic assessment of the world and of human nature.

I'm confused by your responses to my posts. Maybe you are coming from the position that "religion is the opiate of the masses"?

If so, you are confusing what Christ actually said and did with what kings, politicians and powerful clergy have done by using religion as a tool.

Also, you can't always judge the 'truthiness' of Christianity by the behavior of people who label themselves Christians.

The scriptures are one thing. What people do with them is often breathtakingly absurd. :<)
