China is gonna burn dirty coal in it's 1930s vintage power plants until they run out of coal. They don't give a shit about pollution

wind power,, kennedy and kerry killed a wind power project all but approved to supply 85% of cape cod electrical use. it bothered them as it killed their view of the sunrise or sun set four miles off shore.

i do not know who is ahead on solar power that was my question. i remember mobil dumping millions and millions into solar energy as far back at early seventies. in early 80's they sold off the business as it was still losing money. don't get me wrong they had built some huge projects in saudi etc to convert sea water to drinking water and power some stuff with solar. I doubt it ever was profitable. Are there any solar projects today that pay out in a reasonable time. If i put in a solar roof to heat my house, hot water etc. will it pay out. i have checked sites on electric companies and solar power sites , it doesn't.

so i find it hard to believe we are left in the dust on solar.

now wind, that is the public.. who refuse to have wind in their back yards, like refineries, like storage for lng.

brazil is a joke on ethanol. they are happy because they struck oil big time in the last year. Ethanol is a bad joke on the american public. we subsidize it , while it burns our limited natural gas resources which folks badly need for home heating. there goes the prices at the pump and the prices for home heating. Ethanol seems to be zero sum game depending on which college lab reviews how many resources go into it.

we are far behind in nuclear power , we should be building nuke stations throughout the country. we should be demanding the use of coal for power plants and large factories and make them burn it clean vs Gore offsets.

What i like best is the huge amounts of natural gas ,off the carolina coast, shut in by the states. same goes for other deposits along both coast lines. We are creating early supply problems that may never have existed if we allowed exploration off shore while investing in alternative energy. Instead we appear to be in crisis management mode.

Why is it FRANCE is about 70% nuclear and no incidents and YET we are afraid? I still think in the near term (30-50 years) Nuclear energy could give us the fastest fix. jdn
