A website I frequent, one that I think RCG would benefit greatly from, as it posts both they type of news items you see here, and other great commentary, is www.jihadwatch.com. The site is run by Robert Spencer, a best selling author and scholar on islam. Other contributors provide valuable information, including Hugh Fitzgerald, whom I posted from yesterday. There is an associated site- www.dhimmiwatch.com and many linked resources. The reason I am bringing this up, is that about a week or so ago, a person claiming to be a muslim appeared as a commenter, extolling the virtues of peaceful islam. All commenters took great interest in questioning him to know why he claimed islam is peaceful. There were in excess of 200 responses. He did not respond to any direct questioning and only provided links to some websites which told nothing. I, as were all of the readers I'm sure, were extremely disappointed. I mean, here was the genuine article, the great hope, and he brought and/or taught NOTHING. See jihadwatch.org So, yes I know peaceful muslims, and I know more exist, but if the best they can do for a "spokesperson" can't educate, why is the public that reads about these barabaric acts every day going to think any different? Yes, as I have posted, the "moderate" speakers are out there, but so few as to be irrelevant. So, RCG, do the posters at this thread have to assume islam in general is peaceful just because we as Americans are optimistic and forgiving? Or, are we all just asking islam to prove it?
