how is one to interpret having < 0 god?

If I knew, I'd be the one writing the story. Good SciFi IMO explores such questions. Unfortunately, way to much SciFi is just Fantasy, which I don't care for.

BTW, have you ever read Kim Stanley Robinson's book: The Years of Rice and Salt?

It is historical fiction, looking at how history might have been if Buddhism & Islam had played more dominant rolls than western Christianity. I quite enjoyed it.
