Whether Islam as currently practiced today is even compatible with democracy is an open question.

It is incompatible as long as there is no separation of church and state. If you have Democracy the female Muslims are going to vote themselves into equality, so there goes all the Sharia law stuff which discriminates against women. However, based on conversations with the Muslims I've asked, they say that there is nothing in Islam that mandates the state must regulate behaviour. So if you have a non-Islamic government, you can allow citizens to drink booze, and good Muslims will abstain, bad Muslims will drink, and the rest of us will drink.

Turkey is a fine example of how Islam can get along with Democracy. Just because you consider them heretics doesn't mean the 80 million Turkish Muslims consider themselves heretics.

Hirsi Ali
The woman is a lier. She would say anything to further her cause. She lied to the Dutch Government and was suspended from her job. You are using a lier to support your argument, therefore your argument does not stand.
