Lebanon was in a civil war. You think it could afford to start a war with Israel? I didn't say it did start a war with Israel. The PLO did. The Lebanese government couldn't and/or wouldn't stop the PLO. That justified Israel's intervention. "Imagine Al Qaeda was attacking the US from Canada, and that they had bases and training camps operating openly in Canada and the Canadian government didn't even try to hinder Al Qaeda. The US would likely attack the camps, and it would be completely justified in doing so." Mexico encourages its residents to infiltrate the US and yet we do nothing. We could perhaps protest, but armed attack against Mexico wouldn't be justified. There is a difference between illegal immigration, and fairly wide spread terrorist activity.
