I never switched. Still fry in lard often also. My thought is what is better for you, a natural product or something chemically manufactured. I think it's likely your body can process natural products and may have troubles with those manufactured. Butter and Margarine kind of prove that theory correct.

While M can take higher temps for cooking I just use unsalted which is close temp wise but much better tasting.
