I'm not suggesting Israel should cease to exist. Nor do I believe that our problems with the Muslim world would end if the Israel-Pal. issues were resolved.

But it would be an important start. Our history with Israel has and continues to shape foreign policy decisions that should be made only on the basis of what's best for the US.

I don't think grievance and demands would skyrocket. Under the radar, moderating influences are at work throughout the ME. This is what will eventually collide most with the fundamentalists. We should stop meddling and let things unfold naturally.

Our involvement should simply be to try and bring increased prosperity to those ME countries willing to do business with us.
