An idea is only as good as the balance of the evidence supporting it. You're right in some people automatically assume that it's a stupid theory... Those are the people who don't take the time to research it for themselves. They are the easy prey for the interested who hire their "consultants" and start a PR campaign to detract from the urgent message that the uninterested are giving us. We all want everything to work out fine and healthy economy, low unemployment, and lots of gold bars for everyone. Unfortunately things don't always work out that way and action must be taken. We're fiddling with the environment in many profound ways. We must manage the environment so it doesn't self-destruct. We are not so robust as to be immune from a total calamity.
