Pacifism is naive considering human nature. It's a nice ideal, but every country in the history of the planet has had to defend itself from time to time, even Canada and Switzerland. I am not a militarist, just for smart, strong self-defense and rescue ops whenever truly necessary. There is a middle ground between pro and anti military, and that's where I am. That said, I am highly critical of the re-emergence of the military-industrial complex neocons who have teamed up with Big Oil, religious extremists and war profiteers to push this stupid, costly, counter-productive war on us. Particularly since they are so incompetent.
