Interesting article. Wonder if anyone else heard that Lieberman is close to switching parties, thus giving the Republicans back the Senate. If Joe did do that, he would be stabbing Ct voters in the back. He would never have won as a republican and to switch now because of perceived personal and political insults and hurt for purposes of revenge and perhaps a committee chair is really beneath the decent man we thought joe was---even those who disagreed with him have thought highly of him up to now. Maybe he has his eyes on the VEEP spot in 08 on the Republican side?

That was one of the fairest partisan left leaning posts I've ever seen submitted to this thread.

" In the meantime, since Bush is going to be Bush, let Pelosi be Pelosi and Petraeus be Petraeus — and hope for the best."

Have Peace,
Gem

Friedman is back-pedaling from his rah-rah war stance of years past. The schmuck is playing any side of the game depending on the facts on the ground.

That's a very charitable pretense, that Pelosi is prodding Bush to do better in the war. In fact, she is saying the war is already lost and all troops should come home now.

The Pelosi crowd is more afraid of the Surge working than of its failing.
