If the Bush admin had fired all the attorneys, they could probably have gotten away with it. But to fire these particular attorneys, and then to initially say it was performance related, when it appears it was only related to political aspects of their performance, was the real mistake. Poor planning and a bad response to the event appear to be what hung them up- as usual. Isn't that what we see repeatedly with this admin? Since it's their pattern, I suppose we can expect more of the same until 2008.
